The Business Director of the British Council, Kumasi Office, Mrs Juliet Amoah, has called on industry to join hands with the education institutions to equip students with the relevant skills for the job market.
This, she said, had become necessary to help address the growing graduate unemployment in the country.
She was speaking at a three-day sensitization workshop for personnel of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in Kumasi.
Jointly organized by the British Council and the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA), it aimed at assisting them to write Curriculum Vitae, formal letters and to have better grasp of interview techniques.
It is part of efforts at preparing them for the job market as they end their national service this month.
Mrs Amoah said the British Council had the tools to train young graduates to become successful in entrepreneurship, the civil service and other sectors of the economy.
The Ashanti Regional Director of the NSS, Mr Kwesi Quianoo, appealed to the personnel to cherish the values of hard work and discipline
as these would enable them to make significant contribution to productivity at the workplace.
