The Emmanuel Assemblies of God at Dadiesoaba, in
Kumasi, has drawn up a 10-year strategic development plan, to increase its contribution towards the nation's socio-economic progress.
A press statement, signed by the Reverend Duncan Nuakoh, Senior Pastor of the Church, in Kumasi said the plan would be officially launched next month.
Under it, street children would be given employable skills training, scholarship awarded to brilliant but needy students and care for orphans, widows and the aged.
Additionally, the church would help to rehabilitate drug addicts
The statement said through such interventions, the church would succeed
in winning more souls for Christ.
It said a consortium of registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs) led by Mr Kofi Lucas, a member of the Church in Accra, would oversee the successful implementation of the plan.
The statement commended the Reverend Dr Paul Frimpong-Manso, General Superintendent-elect of the Church, for his encouragement and leadership in the development of the plan.
