The District Coordinating Director of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Mr Philip K. Asamoah, has called on all religious leaders, traditional rulers, assembly members and opinion leaders to take
active part in the upcoming population and housing census to ensure a hundred per cent coverage.
Mr Asamoah was addressing the closing session of a three-day workshop on "Gender Parity - the Girl Child' at Ajumako, organised by the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service and sponsored by UNICEF. It was
attended by 62 participants.
He charged participants to go out to their respective communities with the good news and also highlight on the census night which falls on the mid-night of October 26, this year.
He observed that census data was vital for planning and development and that all citizens should be counted.
Meanwhile, the District Census Implementation Committee has invited 487
short-listed applicants for screening out of which 324 would be trained as supervisors and enumerators.
Mr Elliot Ansah, District Statistician, said all was set for the training of 324 selected people to be trained for 12 days commencing
September 5.
