A Tarkwa circuit court has fined Osmanu Kalu alias Kofi Basaare, an 18 year old Galamsey operator GH�240 for causing harm.
He was also ordered to pay a compensation of GH�500 to the victim or in default spend 18 months imprisonment.
He pleaded guilty.
Prosecuting Police Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng-Diawoo that on August 26 this year at about 2030 hours, Abraham Quaicoo alais Papa Badu the complainant, was standing at a spot near Bonsawere when the wife of Osumanu run to him for protection. Osumanu was pursuing her in order to beat her.
The prosecutor said as soon as Quaicoo attempted to intervene, Osumanu drew a knife and stabbed him (the complainant) on his left jaw but neighbours quickly rushed him to the Tarkwa Government Hospital for medical attention.
Inspector Tawiah said Quaicoo, on his discharge on August 31, reported the incident to the Police and Osmanu was arrested.
