 Much anticipated second draw held at Tema Branch
 Ten (10) more lucky customers walked away with fantastic prizes
Accra, 8th November 2010: Fidelity Bank has rewarded ten other lucky customers in the second GO FOR GOLD monthly draw held in Tema. The much anticipated event took place at the forecourt of Fidelity Bank at the Community 1 branch in Tema. Thursday’s draw marked the second in the series of six draws to be held by the bank to reward both existing and new customers who have signed on to the ‘Go for Gold’ campaign.
In a breath taking draw, the first winner, Yakubu Anyoba from Kumasi took home a 42 inch flat screen Plasma TV while the second and third winners, David Kojo Amartey-Nunoo in Takoradi and Afua Gyapoma in Accra took home a table top refrigerator and an Apple iPod respectively. The excited winners could not hold their joy upon being informed on the phone that they have won. The winners of the fourth to the tenth position took home woodin clothes and souvenirs from Fidelity Bank.
The first draw which was held at the bank’s Spintex branch was a huge success, pulling mammoth crowds to the forecourt of the bank and generating wide interest amongst the Ghanaian public. With the prizes getting bigger and better, the second draw drew even a bigger crowd to Tema Community 1 where ten (10) other loyal customers won interesting assortment of prizes.
In her speech, the Director of Human Resources and Administration at the Ghana Chamber of mines said that “several promotions are currently going on in the banking industry either in the name of attracting new customers, maintaining existing customers or rewarding loyalty. One can almost tell what the ultimate prize of the promotion is: a car, travelling with spending money, house, a lump sum of money, etc. In my opinion, no bank has yet thought of our most prized and cherished property and the impact it will have on any body’s life until Bank Fidelity bank surprised us with its launch of Go for Gold promotion. I have personally been amazed at the response Ghanaians have given to the promotion so far. For me, Fidelity bank is setting the pace for the banking industryâ€.
She continued that “this is the first time in the history of Ghanaian banking that a bank is giving away a gold bar as a gift to its customers. Fidelity bank is arguably the first bank to award its customers with a bar of gold; and I wish to congratulate all of you at Fidelity Bank for this wonderful initiativeâ€.
The Deputy Managing Director of Fidelity Bank said that this innovative campaign is to encourage Ghanaians to bank with Fidelity Bank while providing the opportunity to bank the unbanked population nationwide. According to him, “many Ghanaians still prefer to keep cash in their homes or pockets. Such money is idle and does not contribute much to the growth of the economy. By banking with Fidelity, your money is safer, you earn more interest and you contribute to the growth of the economy of our countryâ€.
He added that “Fidelity Bank is committed to offering every Ghanaian an opportunity to enjoy world class banking services. Since we launched the Go for Gold promotion, we have embarked on a nationwide door-to-door campaign, drumming home the need for Ghanaians to cultivate the culture of savings; a culture that guarantees financial independence and a more fulfilling life for individuals and families as well as for the entire nationâ€.
Fidelity Bank has so far increased its customer base with over 5,000 new customers and still counting through the Go for Gold campaign. The train began in August in Accra and has so far travelled to Tema, Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi and their environs with Fidelity Ambassadors moving from household to household sharing fliers and providing world class banking services to the Ghanaian public.
The next monthly draw will be held in December in Kumasi.
