The Buduburam branch of the Apostolic Church of
Ghana ended its annual children's week with a call on government, parents and communities to adopt strategies for the education of the child so that they become responsible children and not to fall into bad company.
Deacon Clement Anderson, head of the children's ministry of the local church, said in the present times when all manners of crimes abound, including armed robbery, it would be an advantage for the trio to see that children in their formative years are imbued with values which would enable them to face the challenges of the future.
Deacon Anderson made the call on Sunday, when preaching on the topic, "The Child and his Future" at a church service to climax the activities of the week at Buduburam near Kasoa.
He asked parents not to neglect the spiritual needs of the children but to ensure that the children attend Sunday school, where they would learn the scriptures, adding that it would guide them in the conduct of their lives.
Deacon Anderson further asked parents not to allow their wards to be wayward but involve them in cooking and other household tasks, adding that a well trained child would not be found wanting when he or she becomes an adult.
