The Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC)
has vowed to crack down on under-aged commercial drivers in the region.
A statement signed by the Regional Coordinating Director, Mr S. O. Kusi-Appiah, said it was an offence under Section 65 of the Road Traffic Act 683 of 2004, for people below the age of 25 to drive commercial vehicles.
It warned that offenders would be arrested and prosecuted.
The REGSEC action is widely seen as part of measures taken to help restore some level of sanity on the roads and reduce car crashes.
