Four school children, and an adult, died in a tragic road accident, at Kwesimintin, a suburb of Takoradi, in the Western Region.
Confirming the story to the Ghana News Agency, on Thursday, DSP Daniel Dzakah, Regional MTTU boss said other victims also sustained various degrees of injuries and have been referred to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for emergency care.
The accident happened around 1500 hours, involved an articulator truck.
According to DSP Dzakah, the children were being assisted by a City Guard road warden to cross the road but while a Taxi cab stopped to give way to the children, the articulator, with registration number AS1140N failed to stop and run into the children.
The bodies of the children, aged between nine and fifteen years, pupils of Asaba Preparatory School, have been deposited at the Effia-Nkwanta hospital whiles investigation continue.
