The Bibiani Circuit Court presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Ankoma has remanded three persons into prison custody for the alleged murder of one Stephen Owusu Ansah, a building materials dealer at Sefwi-Anhwiaso in the Western Region.
The pleas of Stephen Kwaku Antwi, alias “Kwaku Beyerebon” 25, Nana Yaw Adu Gyamfi 30, both unemployed, and Kwadwo Mensah alias “O.P”, a 28-year old taxi driver, were not taken.
They would re-appear on Thursday, February 24.
Their accomplices, one Abu and Akwasi Nketia are being pursued by the police.
Three other persons; Richard Kwaku Osei , Kwabena Asante and Kwabena Amasi, who were earlier arrested by the police on suspicion of committing the crime, were granted bail in the total sum of GH¢20,000 to also re-appear on the same date.
Detective Police Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court that the complainant, Rose Bediako, is a trader and widow of Owusu Ansah.
Gyamfi, lives at Atwima-Koforidua while Antwi and Mensah reside in Kumasi and Sefwi-Afamu near Anhwiaso respectively.
Somewhere in December, last year, Antwi met with the other suspects at Atwima-Koforidua, and hatched a plot to attack the deceased, whom he claimed, had diamonds in his shop.
The prosecution said the accused attacked and killed Owusu Ansah on the night of December 15.
They made away with his bag and a pair of trousers containing an amount ofGh¢520 to a nearby bush, where they took the money and fled in a getaway taxi cab.
Their arrest followed a tip off.
