Personnel of The Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Police Service, in the early hours of Thursday, arrested Samuel Fosu, 28, when a large consignment of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was found in his warehouse at Tarkwa.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anthony Dogbey, Unit Commander of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit, told the press at Sekondi that upon a tip off, personnel of the unit arrested the suspect who hails from Kuntuase in the Ashanti Region and residing at Tarkwa.
ASP Dogbey said the suspect took the Police to his warehouse where 731 parcels, 186 wrappers and 13 mini bags of the dried leaves as well as scissors and other items believed to be used in the narcotic business were found.
He said the suspect would be prosecuted after further investigations.
