The President of the association, Dr. Edward Fynn, a medical practitioner, led the paying of tributes read in honour of Alhaji Attah by other members of the group.

They commended the High Commissioner for his efforts at promoting Ghana-Namibia relations, and enhancing the welfare of Ghanaians in Namibia.

Alhaji Attah said he was proud to have served his God and country and was returning home in honour and dignity to contribute more to the national development.

He mentioned the second Session of the Ghana-Namibia Permanent Joint Commission on Cooperation, which Ghana hosted in November 2016, and the resumption of Air Namibia flights to Ghana as important milestone during his tenure of office.

The High Commissioner also mentioned the promotion of Ghana’s Diaspora Engagement policy, many bilateral initiatives with Namibian and Ghanaian institutions and the highly successful state visit of former President Mahama to Botswana in 2015.

Members of the association and Ghanaian staff of the High Commission provided food and drinks with the mutton version of the popular “aponkyenkrakra” topping the fare.
They presented Alhaji Attah with gifts, including a carved map of Africa, showing the “Big Five” wild animals of Namibia.
