The warning comes amid reported threats by a private developer to demolish workshops of artisans on a three-acre stretch of the land they are occupying. The developer, Mr. Joseph Emmanuel Anie Budu, is said to have secured an order by Tema High Court to take possession of immovable property there.

A press statement signed by Mr. Kwame Peprah, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the Association, was however defiant and indicated that, it would not let go any inch of its land. They would resist any attempts to level their shops and would protect their land.

It added that, the artisans would hit the streets – stage a massive demonstration within the next two weeks against those selling the Suame/Tafo magazine lands.   Copies of their statement were made available the Regional Minister, the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, the Regional Police Commander and the Suame Police Commander.
