President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is scheduled to meet the press this week, to give an account of his stewardship, one year after he was sworn into office as President of the republic.
Nana Akufo-Addo in a meeting with the media at the Flagstaff House in July 2017, promised another press encounter after a year in office to be able to give a fuller account of his stewardship.
Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to recount measures that have been taken by his government to improve on the economic situation of Ghanaians.
The Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid, gave the hint about the meeting at a media encounter in Accra last week.
Mr Hamid said: “In the next few days, the president will hold a press conference to mark his one year in office. Tentatively, we are looking at Wednesday (10 January 2018), so in the course of the week we will confirm to you whether the Wednesday date holds.
“When the president held his press conference in July, he said that at the end of the year or beginning of the year or middle of every year, he will hold this press conference to update you on the governance process and what it is he is doing and then also to take questions from you. Again, to create more channels of communication and ensure better free flow, we may also be holding weekly government press briefings.”
