The Governing Board of the Minerals Commission led by the chairman, Mr Samson Kwaku Boafo, have paid a courtesy call on Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
A statement from the Commission said the visit was to commemorate the 20th anniversary of king of the Asante Kingdom.
Mr Boafo commended the Asantehene for his immense and diverse contributions toward peace, unity and socio-economic development of Asanteman and Ghana as a whole.
The delegation presented the Asantehene with a cash donation and assorted drinks in support of his 20th coronation celebrations.
In his note of gratitude on behalf of the King, his linguist acknowledged Minerals Commission for its continuous collaborations with the Asante kingdom and for all its endeavours towards the growth of the nation.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, the board chairman, Mr Boafo commended Otumfuo for leadership and exemplary life.
He said "good work needs to be appreciated and urged other chiefs in the country to stand out and be sources of development in their communities as was depicted by Asantehene".
He added that the contributions of Otumfuo to the nation cannot be quantified and his assistance to Minerals Commission all these years was enormous, especially with a number of mining companies located in Ashanti Region.
