During talks with his Ghanaian counterpart Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday in Egypt, President El-Sisi praised the profound historical ties between Egypt and Ghana on the political, economic, security and cultural levels, presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said.

El-Sisi hailed the increasing cooperation between the two countries through various partnership programmes and asserted Egypt's keenness on maintaining regular political consultations at the level of foreign ministries and achieving security and stability in Africa.

President Akufo-Addo also expressed his country's appreciation for the distinguished historical relations with Egypt and praised its pivotal role in the African arena, particularly its current efforts as African Union chair.

He asserted his country's keenness on developing bilateral relations in all fields, especially trade and economic cooperation, he said.

Akufo-Addo also congratulated Egypt on the distinguished and successful organisation of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The talks covered ways to boost bilateral relations and joint African action as well as the latest developments in Sudan and Libya.
