Members of the Executive Purposeful Ladies Ministry (EPLM) have presented some food items and toiletries worth over GHC2,000.00 to the inmates of the Female Prisons at Akuse. The items included food stuff, detergents, toiletries, non-alcoholic beverages, bathroom slippers, Bibles etc.
The gesture formed part of the Ministry’s efforts to extend love, care and comfort to those who are hurting and less privileged in society especially during the Easter season.
Presenting the items, Mrs Mina Lassey, Founder and President of EPLM, indicated that as Christians, God expects us to visit and share with the less privileged and needy as stated in Mathew 25:39. She said “even though our sisters find themselves here, God has still not forgotten”. She prayed that God’s divine purpose for their lives will be established as He did in the case of Joseph who found himself in a similar situation.
She encouraged other women's ministries to also demonstrate God’s love to the less privileged in society.
Receiving the items, the Warden of the Prisons, thanked EPLM for its show of love, kindness and support to the inmates of the Female Prisons.
EPLM is a non-denominational network of ladies who have come together to fellowship, share ideas and experiences to equip others to prosper, thrive and reach their full potential in God. The Ministry also seeks to raise women leaders to live in full submission to Christ as Lord, and also live, love, and leave a legacy by achieving their God-given potential.
As apart of fulfilling its mission and vision, EPLM extends love, care and comfort to those who are hurting and less privileged in society. It is against this background that we extended support to the inmates of the Female Prisons to enable them find hope and peace in God even while behind bars.
EPLM meets on the third Saturday of every month at the GS Plaza Hotel, near the Gulf House.
