Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) has provided school supplies for 89. Street connected children in James Town, Accra.  This
year (2019) SCEF packaged 89 backpacks full of school supplies to help street connected children stay in school.

SCEF gave street connected children the opportunity to begin a new academic year with support from the Rotary International Club of
Accra-Airport, Venture G Travels Ltd, and Debis Ventures. Every backpack included a school bag, exercise books, notebooks, a math set, pencils,
pens, erasers, and rulers.

This event aimed at giving street connected children, regardless of their social differences, have equal access to quality and affordable
education.In the quest to meet all the educational supplies of street connected children, SCEF also brought on board families of street
connected children to contribute towards their children’s education. The families provided some specific quantity of school supplies such as
exercise books and uniforms while SCEF provided the rest of the supplies.

Street connected children performed a drama, and music to make the day a memorable one. All in all it was a fun day with rap competitions and
refreshments.

Every year in September the Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) holds the Back to School – Supplies for Dreams event to provide
all their scholarship recipients with new backpacks and all of the necessary school supplies they need for the new academic year. This
event goes to the core purpose of SCEF’s work. It provides an opportunity for individuals and corporate organizations to participate
in giving out school supplies to SCEF’s scholarship recipients. Many people may be willing to donate to SCEF but find it difficult to come to
the Learning Hub with only a few items. This program gives everyone the opportunity to donate whatever quantity of school supplies they are
willing to donate.

We love seeing our scholarship recipients happy and thriving in school. To make next year’s Back to School – Supplies for Dreams event just
as successful, we need your help! Please consider donating any amount of money or giving donations in-kind to help street connected children in
James Town go back to school.
