Bandwidth Global, the tech enabled on-demand remote staffing firm based in Ghana, has entered into a strategic partnership with Generation, a global nonprofit organization that drives economic mobility through employment.
The alliance is a major step on the road to achieving Bandwidth Global's ambitious ten-year goal to connect one million expert-vetted and highly skilled African professionals with leading global companies for remote jobs by 2034.
This collaboration aims to prepare, place, and support Ghanaian youth into life-changing careers that were previously inaccessible to them. Job seekers will first complete one of Generation’s training programs. Thereafter, they will be considered for remote roles serving Bandwidth Global’s network of international clients.
By leveraging Bandwidth Global’s expertise in remote staffing and Generation’s impact-driven employment program, this partnership is set to create a robust pipeline of skilled, job-ready professionals from Ghana to the world.
Carl Koranteng, CEO of Bandwidth Global, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "Working with Generation marks a significant step toward fulfilling our mission to open up global work opportunities for African talent. This collaboration is pivotal in realizing our vision by 2034, helping us to empower Ghanaian youth with the essential skills needed for successful, sustainable careers with global companies."
This partnership will draw upon graduates from Generation’s programs who have been prepared for remote roles in the global job market, such as Digital Customer Support, Web Development, Data Analyst and Digital Marketing Associate.
Marylin Schlamkow, Global Employer Partnerships Lead for Generation, commented, “We are delighted to be exploring a new employer partnership with Bandwidth Global and are particularly inspired by their goal to connect one million highly skilled African professionals with leading companies worldwide by 2034. We are committed to supporting young people from Ghana to upskill and find careers as we believe everyone should have access to a good job and income that can help them and their families have a better life.”
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Vandyck Lomotey, Generation Ghana Program Director, added, “It is always exciting to find partners who are equally committed to transforming the lives of young people by connecting them to meaningful job opportunities. Working with Bandwidth Global will strengthen the mission of the Ghana Remote Online Work (GROW) program, run in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. Together, we aim to support more than 2000 young Ghanaians seeking economic mobility and the chance to improve their lives and the lives of their families, and this partnership with Bandwidth Global will be instrumental in unlocking global remote and online job opportunities for Ghanaian youth.”
Since 2015 Generation has worked with a range of committed, forward-thinking partners to benefit unemployed and underrepresented talent across 18 countries with nearly 120,000 graduates from their programs thus far. Generation has offered programs in Ghana since late 2023.
The partnership between Generation and Bandwidth Global has already begun making an impact, with the first group of Generation-trained candidates placed within Bandwidth Global’s client network last month in remote trucking CRM roles with various US based logistics companies.
Both organizations are committed to a long-term investment in the future of Ghana’s workforce, setting a promising precedent for the potential of international collaborations to foster economic development and career accessibility.
