He highlighted the global im­pact of his previous productions, which amassed over 3.5 million views, and introduced Theatre on the Pulse—an innovative, community-based performance model designed to deepen cultural engagement.

At the official launch of the project, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Abla Dzifa Gomashie, made a passionate call for both national and international support for the initiative. She un­derscored the transformative power of immersive theatre as a medium for telling Ghana’s unique story while promoting its identity and economic potential.

Mrs Gomashie urged the media, corporate Ghana, and the general public to rally behind the initiative through sponsorships, attendance at shows, and efforts to attract investors.

The Minister also revealed plans to establish a practical training school dedicated to the tourism, culture, and creative arts sectors.

Renowned playwright and CEO of Globe Productions, Mr Latif Abubakar, described Ghana Must Go as more than just a theatrical performance.

He said the production was a strategic vehicle for economic mobilisation and cultural diplomacy developed in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and supported by the Ministries of Health and Information Service, the initiative is part of the broader Big-Pitch Gha­na project under the government’s Black Star Experience.

“We must see creativity as power, profit, and progress,” Mr Abubakar stated, adding “If we invest in our stories, we can turn potential into prosperity and elevate Ghana’s global presence.”

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, pledged the full support of the Association towards the success of Ghana Must Go.

He urged media houses across the country to give the initiative prominent coverage and to treat it not merely as an event but as a national movement.

“As narrators of the nation’s story, the media must lead this journey. Let us amplify this initiative and help place Ghana on the global cultural map,” Mr Dwumfour remarked.

The launch of Ghana Must Go signals a significant step in using the arts as a conduit for national branding, economic empowerment, and international engagement. Organisers are hopeful that the project will spark renewed inter­est in Ghana’s cultural wealth and attract investment into its creative economy.
