The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has organised a leadership training workshop to strengthen the capacity of its Directors and Deputy Directors in emotional intelligence, with the aim of boosting productivity and fostering a healthier work environment.
The one-day workshop, held at the Cabin Hotel in Accra under the theme “Inspirational Leadership through Emotional Intelligence,” is part of the Ministry’s wider efforts to develop strong and effective leadership within its senior management.
Mr Jonathan Prince Cann, Managing Partner at JPCANN Associates Limited, facilitated the session, offering practical insights on leadership and management. He highlighted the importance of self-awareness, purposeful communication, and visionary guidance, stressing that leadership goes beyond administration and requires emotional intelligence to inspire others.
Closing the programme, the Ministry’s Director of Human Resource, Mr Vitus O. Langmagne, commended the Directors and Deputy Directors for their active participation and praised Mr Cann for what he described as an “insightful and impactful presentation.” He further stressed the importance of making such training a regular feature, noting its value in maintaining staff well-being and driving organisational performance.
The Ministry said the training marks a strategic step towards sustainable staff development and signalled that more sessions of this nature will be rolled out to further strengthen leadership and organisational growth.
