The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) is proud to announce the celebration of its 60th anniversary, commemorating six decades of dedicated service in making the Bible accessible to all people in Ghana. Under the theme, "60 Years of the Bible Society of Ghana: Revitalising Our Bible Ministry for Greater Impact," the anniversary will be marked with a series of significant events across all regional offices.
Since its inception, the Bible Society of Ghana has been at the forefront of Bible translation, publication, and distribution, playing a vital role in national development. The 60th anniversary serves as a moment to reflect on past achievements and to renew its commitment to the future of its ministry.
As we reflect on six decades of solid commitment to making the Word of God accessible and affordable to every Ghanaian, our hearts are filled with profound gratitude to God and the generous Christians who have supported us thus far. The historical profile of BSG reminds us of the long and impactful journey of the Bible in our country, a journey that began centuries ago with the arrival of the first scriptures on our shores.
However, the story of the Bible's deep entrenchment in the hearts and lives of Ghanaians is inextricably linked with the vision, dedication, and tireless efforts of the Bible Society of Ghana. Inspired by the remarkable story of Mary Jones and the subsequent formation of the British and Foreign Bible Society, our forerunners recognized the inherent need for all people to have personal access to the life-transforming power of Scripture.
The path to establishing an autonomous Bible Society in Ghana was paved with collaboration, ecumenical spirit, and a growing national consciousness. The partnership with missionary societies, the active involvement of the Christian Council of Ghana, and the foresight of prominent Ghanaian church leaders laid a strong foundation.
Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants. We celebrate the countless individuals who have dedicated their time, talents, and resources to ensure that the Word of God reaches every corner of Ghana, in languages that speak directly to the hearts of our people. We acknowledge the monumental achievement of translating and revising the complete Bible in eleven(11) major Ghanaian languages, with ongoing efforts to reach even more communities.
Beyond translation and distribution, the Bible Society of Ghana has actively engaged in various outreach programmes, touching lives through initiatives such as the "Next Gen mentorship programmes, Persons with Visual Disability Projects, Trauma Healing Programmes, Literacy programs, and free Bible distributions. These initiatives demonstrate our holistic commitment to the spiritual, social, and personal growth of Ghanaians.
The planned activities are designed to engage a wide spectrum of the community, from youth to seasoned members, and to express gratitude for the unwavering support the organization has received over the years.

We invite every church, every individual, every organization to partner with us in this vital work. Let us work together to ensure that the transformative power of God's Word continues to shape lives, strengthen families, and build a more just and compassionate society in Ghana.
