The Minister for Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has cautioned applicants in the ongoing security services recruitment to adhere strictly to the protocols for the screening schedule.
He warned that anyone who goes to the screening centres outside their assigned time will be disqualified.
In a radio interview with Accra based Joy FM on Monday morning [November 17, 2025] Mr Muntaka said the new system is intended to reduce queues, ensure fairness and prevent crowding at screening centres.
Acknowledging the pressure on the ministry, he said the authorities are determined to implement a smoother recruitment process.
He explained that the government was looking into a process that avoids long queues and unnecessary physical stress for applicants.
No protocol list
The Minister for the Interior said there was nothing like a formal protocol list for the recruitment.
But explained that what normally happens is that preference is given to certain groups, including long-serving volunteers and sportsmen.
He said the recruitment process has been designed to be fair, transparent, and safe for applicants.
“There is no allocation for protocol. What I mean is that I am not going to allocate anything and say, ‘oh, I’m doing this one for protocol,’” Mr Muntaka said.
He added that individuals who have served as volunteers in various security services, including the police and fire bands, or who have represented the services as sportsmen, will be prioritised. “When the portal is open, we will prioritise you. When you apply..., pass your medicals, and when you are among the selected, obviously, we will try and prioritise you. You may call it protocol, but I will not anticipate exact numbers,” he explained.
