The Ministry of Education has responded to concerns raised by Ga Adangbe communities regarding the perceived exclusion from a pilot project with Google to develop an artificial intelligence-powered education tool in selected Ghanaian languages.
In a statement, issued by the Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, Hashmin Mohammed, the Ministry clarified that the initial selection of four languages is strictly for pilot testing and will later be expanded to include all twelve approved Ghanaian languages.
According to the release, the pilot phase is intended to evaluate the efficacy and educational impact of the AI learning tool before nationwide implementation.
The Ministry emphasised that Ga Adangbe are among the languages approved for inclusion in the expanded phase, and no linguistic group will be permanently marginalised.
The Ministry is commitment to linguistic diversity and equitable access to technology-driven learning initiatives across Ghana.
