The government has announced the disbursement of feeding grants for the first academic term of the 2025/2026 year to caterers operating under the nationwide Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
In a press release dated February 6, 2026, the programme confirmed that payments have been made to caterers across all 16 regions through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
The statement clarified the basis for the payments, noting that "the total number of cooking days for the first term of 2025/2026 academic year which began on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, was 74 at the rate of Two Ghana Cedis (GH¢2) per child per every school going day."
It explicitly instructed that "it is pertinent for caterers to note that the payment is according to the number of days they were able to feed beneficiary pupils during the term."
The announcement also included a mechanism for addressing potential discrepancies, urging "caterers who have issues with the disbursement to immediately report to their respective Regional Coordinators for prompt redress."
In the release, signed by the Director of Public Relations, Siiba Alfa, the GSFP administration extended commendations.
It thanked "the government for the timely release of funds, and our cherished caterers for their patience and cooperation," while also applauding "their dedication and the selfless services they render to our beneficiary children."
