Unemployed teachers seeking to apply for recently announced vacancies in the Ghana Education Service (GES) have raised concerns over challenges with the application process.
In a statement issued on April 10, 2026, GES invited graduates with education degrees to apply for teaching positions across the country.
However, some applicants say technical issues with the online portal are hindering their efforts.
According to them, some Colleges of Education were initially missing from the system, forcing them to select institutions they did not attend.
They also reported that certain class categories appeared as full, preventing them from completing their applications.
Speaking to Citi News on condition of anonymity, an affected applicant urged GES to address the problems promptly, before the stated April 17 deadline.
“There are real challenges associated with this teacher recruitment process. So please, if something can be done about it, it would help. We have just one week to complete this exercise, and the portal only opened yesterday, yet all these issues are already occurring.
“They need to use the remaining days to allow applicants to correct the mistakes made initially and also reopen the portal for those who did not find their colleges listed among the institutions uploaded earlier,” he said
