Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ken Yeboah, on Thursday advised employers to educate workers on information management to enable them to protect themselves and their establishments from criminal activities.
He said workers must be trained to be security conscious to prevent them from divulging information that could be used by criminals to ruin havoc on personnel and establishments.
ACP Yeboah gave the advice on Thursday at a day's seminar for executives and secretaries of establishments in the Tema Metropolis, at Nungua.
The event was organized by the Tema Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
ACP Yeboah urged companies to install security gadgets such as alarm equipment at their premises to ensure the safety of customers, workers and property.
Mr. Kofi Kukubor, Managing Consultant of BCC Limited in Tema, asked employees to protect the confidentiality and integrity of customers and personnel.
He said information management must be taken seriously by public institutions since criminals could use vital information to destabilize the country's security and economy.
Madam Victoria Hajar, chairman of the Tema Chamber of Commerce, noted that due to the lack of proper training in information management, some secretaries and employees unconsciously revealed vital information about their organizations.
