Mr K.T Hammond, Deputy Interior Minister, has predicted a third time straight defeat for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in this year's presidential and parliamentary elections.
Ghanaians, he said, would vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because of the outstanding leadership President John Agyekum Kufuor had offered to the nation during the past eight years.
"Eight years of President Kufuor has seen tremendous improvement in the lives of the people in the country and that is why Ghanaians are going to give their votes to Nana Akufo-Addo to enable him to continue with the good works", he added.
Mr Hammond, who is the NPP's parliamentary candidate for Adansi Asokwa, made these remarks when he addressed separate rallies at Brofoyedru, Hwiremoase, Biakwaso, Mensakrom, Agogooso, Anomabu, Nsokote, Sekete, Appiah-Nkwanta and Akwansrem, all in the constituency.
He said the next NPP administration under Nana Akufo-Akufo the party's presidential candidate would make Ghana a showpiece in Africa.
"I want to appeal to the NDC to prepare to accept the inevitable outcome of the upcoming election, which will be a third straight and clinical defeat, and that they should embrace it in dignity and humility."
The Deputy Minister also spoke against political violence and called on the political parties to join the nation in praying for a peaceful and violence-free election.
He, therefore, appealed to all to give a fitting birthday cake to President Kufuor, which falls on December 8, by voting massively for the NPP.
"It will therefore be an irony to be sent to retirement in the wake of violence, bloodshed and discord," he added.
