From Friday February 13, 2009 animal and nature lovers across Africa will be able to enjoy more drama, intrigue, suspense and emotionally
inspiring programming when Animal Planet becomes a 24 hour channel on DStv.
The well loved Animal Planet (DStv channel 264) promises more gripping viewing with a mix of new programs such as Untamed and Uncut and loyal
favourites; Big Cat Diaries and Lemur Street. Prominent in the line up are program with an African focus, including Meerkat Manor, Game Ranger Diaries, and Animal Cops.
Loyal viewers can look forward to raw footage, from the captivating beauty of nature, to the unfolding of nail biting drama, watching the
fittest fight for survival.

controversial whaling trade from the point of view of both the traders and the environmental activists who try to stop them, and Dark Days in
Monkey City, which blends live action and the latest animation techniques to dramatise the ongoing struggle of the endangered Sri
Lankan Temple Monkey. Another new program is the docu-soap, Jockey, which gives DStv viewers the inside track on horse racing.
The much loved programs Meercat Manor 4, Most Extreme 4, Big Cat Diaries 7and Animal Cops Houston 1, are also now in their new season. Viewers
can enjoy these on the 24 hour channel. The channel seeks to personalize content for the different territories, allowing viewers to enjoy home
