Francis Tei Agorh and Yao Amevor, who both failed to attend communal labour at Amenhyia near Suhum, were on Thursday convicted on their own plea of guilty to a total fine of GH C100 by the Suhum Magistrate Court.
Agorh and Amevor would go to prison for three months in hard labour in default.
The court issued a bench warrant for the arrest of four other communal labour defaulters who failed to appear before the court.
Mr Philip Tawiah, Principal Environmental Officer, prosecuting, told the court that the unit committee, in collaboration with the assembly member for the area, organized a communal labour on a school project on August 27, September 1 and October 3 last year but the convict and the other four people failed to attend.
The prosecutor said as a result of that development people in the community also decided not to participate in the communal labour on the project anymore.
The case was reported to the police and the convicts were arrested and charged with the offence.
