Worlanyo Andrews, 17, a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidate of the Akpafu-Adokor E. P. Junior High School and his father, Mr Seth Kugbeadzor, 65, died when their motorbike collided with a bus on Sunday at Lolobi-Kumasi.
Mr Kugbeadzor was pronounced dead on arrival at the Hohoe Municipal Hospital while Worlanyo died in the early hours of Monday.
Shine Adasu, 17, a candidate of the same school, survived the accident with multiple injuries including a fractured leg and is on admission at the Volta Regional Hospital.
The two boys were pillion on the motorbike to Hohoe to check the examination centre and index numbers for the BECE that started on Monday.
Mr Anthony Addo, the driver of the bus, said Mr Kugbeadzor emerged from a Likpe-Agbozume junction onto the main road and swerved into his lane..
He said he attempted to avoid a collision by swerving into another lane but the motor rider also swerved into the same lane, causing the accident.
Mr Daniel Ablodey, Hohoe Municipal Police Commander, confirmed the accident to the GNA.
