Mr Kwasi Adu Baffour, Budget Analyst of the Asante-Mampong Municipal Assembly has announced that the assembly had estimated an amount of GH¢ 1,507,998.29 from its common fund to undertake some developmental projects in the municipality.
Out of this amount, he said GH¢870,005.60 has been earmarked for mandatory and administrative projects, GH¢294.374.78 for physical projects and interventions and GH¢306,500.00 for some new projects.
Mr Baffour gave the figures during a meeting by the assembly at Asante-Mampong on Thursday.
Some of the issues discussed at the meeting were reports from the Executives Committee, Finance and Administrative Sub-Committee and the consideration of the draft supplementary estimates for the District Assembly's Common Fund for 2009.
Mr Baffour said uncompleted projects by the previous administration would be completed to improve the living conditions of the people.
Mr Paul Appau Ohyeamang, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the municipality would soon benefit from a 15.3 million dollar loan facility from the Import Bank of the United States of America to rehabilitate the water system.
He assured schools affected by the recent floods in the community of the assembly's support to rehabilitate them soon.
