Mr. Stephen Sumani Nayina, Northern Regional Minister, has urged Christians to provide effective leadership at home since activities at the family level played a significant role in national development.
He said some families needed effective leadership to overcome poor parenting, unemployment, poor education, diseases such as Malaria and HIV/AIDS and economic hardship.
Mr. Nayina was addressing the 15th Annual National Congress of the Baptist Men's Ministry on the theme: "Men, Provide Godly leadership in Society", in Tamale on Saturday.
He expressed worry that despite the proliferation of churches, the country was plagued with hatred, injustice, conflict and immorality.
Mr. Nayina appealed to Christians to intensify their evangelism and counselling to help redeem the country from moral decadence.
Mr. Akwasi Yankyerel, National President of the Baptist Men's Ministry, urged members to rededicate themselves to the ideals of the group.
