Nana Okomfo Adjei II, Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman of the Ghana Physic and Traditional Healers Association has advised members against amassing wealth at the expense of the lives and welfare of the people.
He advised fetish priests and priestesses to refer cases beyond their competence to medical doctors to save innocent lives.
Nana Okomfo Adjei popularly called "Nana Bright" and in-charge of the Atia Mframa Shrine was briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the code of conduct of the members of the association at Bredi Number One in Nkoranza South District.
He expressed concern about how some of members engaged in negative practices, which put the name of the association into disrepute.
Nana Okomfo Adjei deplored the practice of some fetish priests and priestesses who proclaimed on radio their capability to treat all kinds of diseases.
The regional chairman urged the members to live above reproach since they were role models in their communities.
Members of the Ghana Physic and Traditional Healers Association should exchange ideas to improve their competency "since two heads are always better than one and one tree cannot also make a forest".
Nana Okomfo Adjei said Atia Mframa Shrine was established by the late Okomfo Kwadwo Adjei I, founder of Bredi Number One Community.
He cautioned other traditional healers who had not acquired spirit from the shrine not to proclaim having such spirit since the practices could affect his activities as the owner of the Atia Mframa Shrine.
