Lions Club, a humanitarian association formed under the auspices of helping the underprivileged in society and enhancing varied life services to communities, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Lion Henry Quist, Secretary, Planning Committee of the Club in a press statement issued to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday stated the theme for the anniversary as: "Lionism in Ghana, Past, Present and the Future".
He said their main aim for this anniversary was to create awareness of their existence as a service Club in Ghana and showcase their activities.
Lion Quist added that this would help them rekindle the spirit of giving back to society, especially the underprivileged without counting their gains.
He said the Club, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Sight Savers, National Road Safety Authority were organizing free eye screening and education for staff of some media houses and members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to mark the anniversary celebrations.
He said the Club after its formation in 22nd December 1987 has eleven (11) active clubs involved in voluntarism in the country.
