Christal Jeanne, anchor of eBusiness News on e.tv Ghana will attend the World Economic Forum on Africa in Tanzania from May 4-7th.
The 20th World Economic Forum on Africa to be held for the first time in East Africa will bring together close to a thousand participants including African and World leaders, academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from 85 countries to look at the reassessment of the systems governing global cooperation and financial architecture. The forum will discuss policies linked to trade and climate change as a wake-up call to speed up implementation of long-discussed reforms. This year’s conference explores the theme “Rethinking Africa's Growth Strategy”.
In addition, the Forum’s Young Global Leaders Summit will be held concurrently in Dar es Salaam and will integrate over 200 of the world’s top young leaders in the meeting. Discussions will address how African nations are managing relations with key economic partners, with an increasing trend towards greater South-South cooperation.
Christal will be interviewing several of the Forums participants including President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of Tanzania. In addition, Christal Jeanne will cover other business issues in Tanzania involving the agricultural, mining and coal sectors. Tanzania with its vast untapped gold reserves is gradually becoming a leading world producer of the precious mineral. On her return back to Ghana, Christal will stop over in South Africa to bring eBusiness Journal viewers how the city of Johannesburg is readying itself to receive the thousands of visitors in a few weeks time for the World Cup. She will also be holding discussions with her colleagues at e.tv in South Africa before she returns to Accra on May 10th 2010.
Christal Jeanne is the anchor of eBusiness Journal on e.tv Ghana, Ghana’s premier and leading television business programme which airs from 7:00pm-7:30pm, Mondays to Fridays.
“I am excited about this Forum which is taking place for the first time in East Africa because I believe that business more than political rhetoric will lead the way in integrating African countries, bringing the people together and also lifting us out of poverty. Business news to me is the most important kind of news. I am looking forward to meeting, talking to and discussing with the several experts who will be in Dar es Salaam, issues on global warming and its environmental impact on Africa, education reforms, health, inadequate capital on the African capital markets, engaging the donor countries on the diminishing aid to Africa and interviewing our political leaders on the challenges they face as we enter the second decade of the 21st century”, said Christal.
