The Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mr. Paul Asare Ansah, has handed over management of the Authority to Mr. Edward Osei as directed by the presidency.
Mr Ansah, who hands over after a year and a half at the helm of affairs of the authority, bids good bye to staff and colleagues he has been associated with for many years at the GPH, according a press release issued by the Authority.
The handing over ceremony, which took place on Wednesday after he received an official communication from the seat of government, was held at the head office before his top management team including Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of other affiliate business units of GPHA.
Taking over temporal duties for the GPHA, Mr. Edward Osei, Director of Tema Port, assured Mr. Ansah of continues support from him and the Authority. He also advised the management of the authority to remain calm and give off their best to ensure that the authority was lifted high.
The release said top-management members of the organization described Mr. Ansah’s contribution to the organization since he took over as Director-General as “resourceful and outstanding.”
They expressed their deep admiration for his leadership style “that’s based on a high level of integrity, honesty, transparency, hard work and the protection of the authority and national interests.”
Management members observed that, “Mr. Ansah’s leadership style in the past one and half years of his administration, though relatively short, will never be forgotten.” Mr. Ansah was in a letter dated the 5th of June, 2018 directed to hand over management of the GPHA and cease to act as the Director-General of the Authority no later than close of business on Friday 8th of June, 2018.
