Mr Rashad Mahama, National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirant for the Salaga South Constituency has labelled the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as good creators, but failures in developing.
He explained that “We know as NDC that our comrades in the NPP are good at creating, but they can never put it to the right use.”
Mr Mahama was speaking at a thanksgiving durbar at Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality in the Northern Region on the creation of the Savannah Region.
He commended government and the commission of inquiry for the creation of the new regions.
He said the NDC within the Salaga South Constituency participated actively in the processes leading to the petitioning, through to the Commission of Inquiry to the registration of new voters as well as cleaning up the voters register to ensure a reliable referendum.
Mr Mahama said Salaga would not be out of the ordinary to be designated as the capital of the Savannah Region considering the town’s untapped natural resources, saying “Topographical wise, Salaga is well located and connected to other towns that could fast track the development of the region.
He indicated that weighing the chances between Salaga Municipality and other districts within the savannah enclave, the ancient town stood tall to be considered the regional capital to accelerate development of the area.
He was confident that “The NPP government would be voted out come the 2020 general election, and NDC as a social democratic party, would ensure that the Savannah Region gets the needed infrastructure to develop to the admiration of all”.
