Mr Sadiq Abubakar, the President's nominee for the Old Tafo Municipal Assembly, has been unanimously confirmed by all 24 members of the Assembly.
The confirmation exercise, supervised by the Electoral Commission, took place in a calm and orderly atmosphere, witnessed by party supporters and other key stakeholders.
Overwhelmed by the unanimous endorsement, Mr Abubakar expressed his profound gratitude to the Assembly Members for their confidence in his leadership.
He also extended his heartfelt appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating him and thanked the Almighty God for the successful confirmation.
In his address, the newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) pledged his unwavering commitment to the progress and development of the Municipality.
He called for unity among all stakeholders to advance the Assembly's developmental agenda.
"I want to assure the electorate and residents of the Municipality that they can expect development, unity, and peace. Together, we will move forward for the betterment of Old Tafo," he stated.
Mr Abubakar emphasised his readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders, regardless of political affiliation, to ensure the Municipality's success.
He highlighted the need to overcome political divisions for the sake of inclusive development.
He also noted the cordial relationship between himself and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Vincent Ekow Assifuah, indicating their joint commitment to fostering development in Old Tafo.
With a strong pledge to promote development, unity, and peace, Mr. Sadiq Abubakar begins his tenure as MCE of Old Tafo, buoyed by the resounding support of the Assembly Members.
