The Chief Executive of the Bolgatanga Municipality in the Upper East Region, Roland Atanga Ayoo, has pledged to pursue balanced development with the ultimate aim of ensuring that the municipality attains a metropolitan status in the not-too-distant future.
He stated that he would deliver on his mandate for the collective good of the municipality and ensure that the municipality gets its fair share of development to fast-track the attainment of metropolitan status to bring relief to the thousands of residents.
“I shall focus my effort on making sure that Bolgatanga returns to its glorious days of being a haven of peace,” he stressed.
Mr Ayoo was delivering his maiden address after receiving overwhelming endorsement from the assembly members as the new MCE of Bolgatanga.
He received 100 per cent endorsement after all 38 assembly members voted in favour of him and was subsequently sworn into office by the Upper East Regional Minister, Donatus Akamugri Atanga.
While commending the assembly members for reposing confidence in him, he promised to exhibit tremendous humility at all times as well as seek support from everyone to advance the interest of the municipality.
“I will run an open-door policy where everybody, irrespective of one’s political affiliation, will be welcomed to share ideas and participate actively in the development agenda of the municipality,” Mr Ayoo said.
For his part, Mr Atanga lauded the assembly members for putting aside their political differences to vote massively for the President’s representative to steer the affairs of the municipality.
