Paul Adom-Otchere, a former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), who is being investigated by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) in relation to the award of a revenue assurance contract by GACL to Evatex Limited, has explained that he has already filled the forms requested by OSP asking him to declare his assets.
However, he contends that he disagrees with the procedure by the OSP on the matter and hence his protest.
According to him, he first filled the forms the OSP gave him to declare his assets on October 23, 2025 and submitted it, but went ahead and submitted a protest letter to the OSP same day for asking him to declare his assets on October 23, 2025.
To him, his decision to resort to the courts was to settle the law and procedure on the matter.
In a post on Facebook on the Good Evening Ghana page, a platform on which his evening television programme on Metro TV is also streamed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the broadcaster who served as Board Chair of the GACL between 2021 and 2024 stated: "The attention of Paul Adom-Otchere has been drawn to reports which suggest that he seeks to institute a legal action to prevent the OSP from having access to information on his assets through an asset declaration form issued by the OSP."
"For the avoidance of doubt, Mr, Adom-Otchere already filled the forms requested by the OSP and submitted same, on the 23rd October, 2025."
"He submitted a letter of protest, dated the 23rd of October, 2025, and attached same to the form, indicating concern about the process."
"As a matter of record, the OSP’s Assets declaration forms have been completed and submitted to the OSP on the 23rd of October, 2025.
"Mr. Adom-Otchere remains committed to assisting the OSP to bring finality to the issues in question.
"The purpose of the legal action is to settle the law and procedure on the matter," he posted.
Mr Adom-Otchere, has initiated a legal challenge against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), filing a motion at the High Court in Accra to strike down a directive ordering him to declare his assets and income.
The application, lodged by his legal team led by the former Attorney-General, Godfred Dame, contends that the OSP's action is "manifestly unlawful" and an "abuse of power."
The legal action stems from a "Notice to Declare Property and Income" dated 4th August 2025, which was served on Adom-Otchere by the OSP.
