Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to make informed and visionary choices in the party’s upcoming presidential primary, set for January 31.
He labelled the Former Vice President, Dr Mahammudu Bawumia, as a visionary leader who anticipated global economic trends over the next decade and championed digital initiatives as the foundation for effective economic management.
In an interview with Joy News on Wednesday, January 7, he stressed the importance of understanding the digital economy as an integral part of national development, warning that anyone who separates it from the overall economic structure is short-sighted and uninformed.
Pointing to practical outcomes, Dr Amin Adam highlighted that Ghanaians can now renew their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards and purchase electricity from home, achievements he said are direct results of the digital economy framework brought on Board by Dr Bawumia.
The former Finance Minister noted that the digital economy is central to the economies of all countries and will continue to play a pivotal role in the future.
“Everybody must understand that elections in Ghana are about vision. If you have a visionary leader like Dr Bawumia, it doesn’t matter; anyone who understands this will vote for him. The NPP delegates should choose wisely,” he said.
