Mr Benyanasen who previously served as the party’s communications lead in the constituency, said his decision to re-enter the race was driven by his experience and deep understanding of the local political terrain.   

He was credited by party supporters for playing a significant role in shaping the NPP’s messaging strategy during the Election 2016.  

This led to the party winning the Krachi East parliamentary seat, marking a historic seat victory for the party in the area within both the Oti and Volta Region, he said.   

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Mr Benyanasen pledged to strengthen the party’s communication structures and expand its outreach across all electoral areas.  

He emphasised the need for a proactive and coordinated communication approach to effectively counter opposition narratives and promote the party’s policies and achievements.  

“I am determined to build a strong and responsive communication network that engages our grassroots and ensures our message resonates with the people,” he said.  

He also stressed the importance of unity within the party, noting that internal cohesion would be key to winning future elections.  

He said empowering polling station communicators, serial callers and enhancing collaboration among party executives would be central to his strategy.  

Mr Benyanasen highlighted the increasing role of digital platforms in political communication and pledged to leverage social media to broaden the party’s reach, particularly among the youth.  

His decision to contest was expected to generate renewed interest among party faithful, as the communications director role remained crucial in shaping public perception and mobilising grassroots support.  

The upcoming constituency elections were part of the NPP’s internal reorganisation efforts aimed at strengthening its structures ahead of future national contests.
