Kadir Abdul Rahaman, a leading figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Damongo, has officially declared his intention to contest for retention as the party’s Constituency Secretary, pledging continuity, experience, and renewed commitment to electoral success.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 22, the incumbent emphasised that his decision is driven not by entitlement but by a strong desire to consolidate gains made within the constituency and to steer the party toward greater victories.
He acknowledged the demanding nature of the role, citing “sleepless nights, sacrifices, and intense pressure,” but maintained that his dedication to both the party and the people of Damongo has remained unwavering.
Highlighting his familiarity with the constituency, he noted his deep knowledge of polling stations, grassroots structures, and the challenges facing the party. According to him, such experience is critical, especially at a time when strategic leadership is required.
Abdul Rahaman further stressed that the position of Constituency Secretary demands competence, loyalty, and institutional knowledge rather than experimentation.
He pointed to his track record and the confidence reposed in him by party members, who often refer to him as a “walking Electoral Commission” due to his grasp of electoral processes.
Calling for unity and continuity, he urged delegates to prioritise proven leadership over uncertainty as the party prepares for upcoming internal contests and future national elections.
He concluded by appealing for renewed trust and support, assuring party faithful of his readiness to work harder and make greater sacrifices in pursuit of victory for the NPP in Damongo.
