Akorem Ward of the Asawasi Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has held its maiden annual general meeting with a caution to the members to seek party interest rather than individual selfish ambition.
Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament (MP), who made the call, said that undermining of government appointees and policies must end.
He said they should all work hard and support the Mills Administration to address the socio-economic challenges facing the nation and make life better for the people.
Alhaji Mubarak expressed dissatisfaction about the lukewarm attitude to party's activities by some NDC members in the Asawasi constituency and asked them to help to retain not only the constituency seat but the party in power in Election 2012.
He promised to work with stakeholders to promote education in the area to reduce illiteracy rate among the youth.
Mr. Joseph Boarle Salifu, the Constituency Secretary, cautioned the youth to refrain from acts of lawlessness and rather avail themselves of programmes and interventions of government to enhance their living conditions.
He called on the various ward executives to unite with the constituency executive to strengthen the party's support base.
Mr. Dennis Combat, Ward Chairman, said he had helped to "repair cracks and heal wounds in the party."
