An attempt by the Adansi South District Assembly to elect a new Presiding Member (PM) on Thursday ended
inconclusively with none of the two contestants obtaining the required two-thirds majority votes.
Mr Daniel Abambire Agambira, assembly member for Gromesa, polled 24 votes out of 47 votes cast with the remaining 23, going to Mr Morris Jonas Woode, a former PM.
The position became vacant following the nomination and subsequent approval of Mr Benjamin Anhwere as District Chief Executive.
The DCE expressed worry about the situation, noting that, the assembly could not hold meetings without a presiding member.
The term of the present assembly runs out in three months time.
