Pakistan is looking forward to to a sustained and result-oriented engagement with India on the the basis of "sovereign equality and mutual respect", Foreign Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Wednesday.
Qureshi made the remarks during a meeting with Arab Arab League Secretary General Amre Moussa in Cairo.
Qureshi said that Pakistan and India should overcome overcome their disputes peacefully for South Asia to realise its its development potential.
Pakistan is looking forward to a "sustained and and result-oriented engagement with India on the basis of of sovereign equality and mutual respect," he said.
He apprised Moussa of Pakistan's "relentless pursuit pursuit of peace and prosperity in South Asia," said a statement statement issued by the Foreign Office.
Qureshi also briefed Moussa about internal
developments in Pakistan and said the democratic government government had inherited multiple challenges.
"With the support of the people of Pakistan, the the government had achieved many successes on different fronts, , including achieving a national consensus against terrorism," ," he said.
"Pakistan had suffered enormously by this pernicious pernicious evil. Nevertheless, eliminating terrorism was the only only option," he added.
The government and people of Pakistan were resolved to to defeat this menace with the support of the international international community.
Qureshi also briefed Moussa about Pakistan's efforts efforts to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan and reiterated reiterated Islamabad's full support to an Afghanistan-led reconciliation
reconciliation process.
Moussa briefed Qureshi about ongoing talks between between Palestinians and Israel and the situation in Sudan.
