All well-meaning activists and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have been asked to avoid acts, likely to undermine the achievement of the "Better Ghana Agenda" of the Mills administration.
The Ashanti Regional United Cadres Front, which made the call, expressed worry at the manner some NDC members were conducting themselves and pushing
hard their hidden political agenda.
A statement jointly signed by two of the leading members of the Front, Mr. Dennis Kombat and Mr. Mohammed Moro, in Kumasi, said that any scheme to push out President John Evans Atta Mills would not work.
It distanced the cadres in the region from "the disgraceful campaign strategy adopted by some faceless people to prevent the President from
seeking another four-year term."
The statement said that the Front would not countenance any form of disrespect towards the sitting President.
It expressed support and confidence in the leadership of President Mills and government appointees in the region including the Regional Minister, Mr Kofi Opoku-Manu and the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Sarpong.
