The Kpone-Katamanso Constituency Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Wednesday, denied allegations that it incited the Youth of Kpone against its Member of Parliament, Mr Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo.
The NPP said it was not true that it organized the Youth to demonstrate and demand the release of their lands from the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) neither did they incite the Youth to stop all burials at the Kpone Cemetery on Saturday, December 11.
Mr Hopeson Adorye, Kpone-Katamanso NPP Constituency Secretary, who denied the allegations at a Press Conference at Kpone, therefore, described the allegations as “baseless, mischievous, unfounded and a non-starter”.
Mr Adorye said the Coalition of Kpone Youth had a strong united front across the political divide, with its leader being a strong National Democratic Congress (NDC) member.
Mr Adorye also debunked allegations that the NPP government did nothing to help the people of Kpone-Katamanso.
He recounted some of the projects undertaken by the NPP, and said the NPP administration connected the people of Katamanso to electricity, constructed a six-classroom block and Teachers’ Quarters at Oyibi, and introduced a WAEC Examination Centre for BECE at Kpone, among others.
Mr Adorye urged government to institute a forensic audit into the MPs’ share of the common fund, and come out with the actual programmes and projects they used the money for.
