Tottenham's Dele Alli is good enough to play for any club in the world according to Gareth Bale, who has told Metro that more British players should move abroad.
Alli scored his 19th goal of the season in Spurs' 4-0 win over Watford on Saturday and his prolific form in front of goal has led to comparisons with Bale, who scored 26 goals for Spurs in 2013-14 before joining Real Madrid for a then-world record £85 million.
The Wales international, who has since won two Champions League titles, says Alli -- 21 on Tuesday -- has the world at his feet.
"In terms of his ability he could play wherever he wants -- he's achieved so much in such a short period of time that he must have great confidence in his ability to affect games at a high level," Bale said.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy refused to sell Bale and Luka Modric to a Premier League rival and, if Alli does leave the club in the future, it is more likely he would move overseas than to another English club.
"I've loved being a part of a different culture and learning new things," Bale added. "You've just got to be open-minded and be prepared to learn a language and experience the unfamiliar.
"But I also understand why some players are reluctant to move. At the end of the day footballers are people and like a lot of people they want to stay close to their family and friends."
Bale is in his fourth season at Real and his biggest ambition is to "qualify for the World Cup with Wales and win La Liga and the Champions League," but he said he did not know if he would finish his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"In football you never know what will happen but I am loving playing and living in Madrid -- it's an amazing city and a beautiful place to bring up our family," he said. "The weather is also perfect for golf!
"I would love to top the league. We've won the Champions League twice, the Copa del Rey, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup since I've been here but the whole team knows that the league means so much to the fans."
