Ghana Premier League title aspirants, Asante Kotoko S/C, dropped two vital points at home as they drew 0-0 with Ebusua Dwarfs in a Match Day 11 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, on Sunday. It was the second consecutive draw game for the Porcupine Warriors at home, and coming on the heels of their recent 1-2 away defeat to Medeama. The results put Kotoko in second place on the log on 19 points, and four points behind leaders, WAFA, whose 2-1 away victory over Elmina Sharks cemented their lead with 23 points. They are currently being given a hot chase by Aduana, Chelsea and Hearts of Oak, all on 18 points apiece. Kotoko’s embattled Croatian Coach, Zdravko Logarusic, would deploy an all-attacking formation in the first quarter of the game, and the homers kept up the pressure on Dwarfs. The visitors, however, looked compact at the rear as they neutralized most of the dangerous moves by Yakubu Mohammed and Emmanuel Gyamfi. Dwarfs, having soaked up the initial pressure, opened up the game and would embark on many counter-attacks with bulky striker Ibrahim Musah leading the onslaught. Musah pairing effectively with marksman, Nicholas Gyan, nearly stunned Kotoko on 35th minutes, but his well-driven shot was parried to safety by goalie, Felix Annan. The Porcupine Warriors made two incursions at goal in the 39th and 45th minutes and secured corner-kicks on both occasions, which were all squandered. The second half saw some vibrancy in the play of the two sides, and the lack of precision upfront saw them wasting the few clear-cut chances felling their path. It was Dwarfs, however, who demonstrated more sloppiness in the vital area as Gyan blasted away glorious opportunities in the 82nd and 84th minutes.
